The government has approved a state program for energy saving and increasing energy efficiency in Russia. According to the plan, it will reduce energy consumption per unit of production by more than a third, informed Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The program included measures that should minimize losses and increase the useful supply of heat and electricity during production, transmission and consumption. The program will operate in all economic sectors.
“This will expand the potential for further economic growth and limit the impact of fuel costs on prices, that is, at the same costs, produce more goods and services, while simultaneously reducing harmful emissions and thereby improving people’s quality of life,” Mishustin explained.
Earlier, the Ministry of Energy told Vedomosti that about 10 new projects for capturing and storing carbon dioxide are being studied in Russia. Such projects are planned to be implemented by 2030 “Gazprom Neft“,”Lukoil“,”Novatek“and other domestic corporations.
