The government approved a plan for the development of tourism in Russia until 2035

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin approved the plan for the implementation of the Tourism Development Strategy in Russia until 2035, reported on the government website.
The plan includes 65 state support measures for the industry, including financing the development of tourism clusters in the regions, concessional lending for investment projects to create tourism infrastructure, grants to businesses for the construction and reconstruction of hotels, as well as support for the development of rural and ecological tourism.
In addition, initiatives to create modular hotels and campsites and projects for the production and leasing of tourism equipment will be financed. As part of the digitalization of the industry, it is planned to launch a unified tour booking system and create new services on the National Tourist Portal. To support cultural and educational tourism, cultural institutions will be renovated, as well as new exhibitions will be opened, including those using AR technologies.
The strategy for the development of tourism in the Russian Federation was adopted in pre-pandemic 2019 for the period up to 2035. One of the goals of its implementation then was to more than double the number of domestic trips per inhabitant, as well as to triple the export of tourism services and investments in tourism sector. In February 2022, the targets were adjusted: now the tourist flow should increase by more than three times, and the number of inbound tourist trips of foreign citizens to Russia should increase eight times. The average number of employed in the industry should increase from 1.66 million to 4.96 million people, and the number of rooms in classified hotels from 755,000 units to 948,000. In addition, the results will be compared with figures for 2020, not 2017 ., as first assumed.
Last week the government increased the maximum amount of cashback for tourists in the Far East from 20,000 to 40,000 rubles, the share of cashback remains at the level of 20%.
