According to the Inspector General of the Bundeswehr Eberhard Zorn, he has not yet seen a real counter-offensive of the Ukrainian army units.
In an interview with a magazine Focus the German general explained that at the moment we can talk about separate counterattacks from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In this way, Kyiv will be able to return certain territories under its control, but will not be able to push Russia back on a broad front.
He also believes that the Russian army still has reserves that have not yet been used.
“I am careful with terms. I see counterattacks that can be used to recapture individual sectors of the front, but not to push Russia back on a broad front,” the general said.
Zorn stressed that the Ukrainian units operate “intelligently, rarely use a wide offensive and conduct operations in a sovereign and very mobile manner.”
