Rear Admiral Vladimir Tsimlyansky, head of the main organizational and mobilization department of the General Staff, said that Russian conscripts will not be sent to the zone of the military operation in Ukraine this spring.
“Not a single conscripted serviceman will be sent to the zone of a special military operation,” Mr. Tsimlyansky said on the air of the Rossiya 24 TV channel (quoted by RIA Novosti).
According to him, the number of contract servicemen and those mobilized in the Russian army is enough to “fulfill all the tasks” of the military operation in Ukraine. March 30 Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decree on spring conscription. It follows from the document that from April 1 to July 15, 147 thousand people should be called up for military service.
