The G7 states plan to continue the practice of imposing sanctions on the Russian Federation in the future, according to a joint statement by the heads of the Foreign Ministries and Central Banks of the member countries. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
The three-day meeting was held in the Japanese city of Niigata. The G7 countries are going to continue to “impose and implement sanctions and other economic measures” against the Russian Federation, as well as take measures to prevent circumvention of the anti-Russian sanctions regime.
The G7 states also agreed to intensify work on tracking cross-border transactions between Russia and other states, as well as monitoring compliance with the “price ceiling” for oil.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the policy of containment and weakening of the Russian Federation is a long-term strategy of the West, and sanctions have dealt a serious blow to the entire global economy.
