The funeral of the first president of Bashkiria will be held on January 13

The first president of Bashkiria, Murtaza Rakhimov, will be buried on Friday, January 13. About it reported in the press service of the head of the republic Radiy Khabirov.

Farewell to Rakhimov will take place at the Bashkortostan State Concert Hall in Ufa. It will be possible to say goodbye to the former president of the republic from 9:00 to 12:00 local time, after which a funeral rally will begin. The funeral itself will take place at the Muslim cemetery in Ufa.

Khabirov also instructed the government and kurultai of Bashkiria, as well as the administrations of Ufa and the Kugarchinsky district, to make proposals to perpetuate the memory of the first president of the republic.

Rakhimov died the day before, January 11, at the age of 88. He headed Bashkiria since 1990 as the head of the Supreme Council of the republic, and from 1993 to 2010. he served as president. He was re-elected to this position four times. In 2006, he was elected for five years, his term of office expired in 2011, but in 2010 Rakhimov decided to leave the presidency ahead of schedule.

After leaving this position, Rakhimov was chairman of the board of the URAL charitable foundation, which controlled the proceeds from the sale of JSC ANKBashneft”, and from 2010 to 2012 – a member of the board of directors of this oil company.
