Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky do not yet plan to meet at the G20 summit. About it informs TASS with reference to the Deputy head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Andrey Rudenko.

In August, Indonesian President Joko Widodo said in an interview with Bloomberg that Putin plans to attend the G20 summit in person. Then the agency admitted that a meeting between Putin and Zelensky could take place at the event, since earlier the Ukrainian leader was also invited to the summit. In August, Indonesian Ambassador to Russia Jose Tavares said that Indonesia was interested in organizing a meeting between the two presidents.
At the same time, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov stated that there were no prerequisites for a conversation between Putin and Zelensky. In early September, he noted that in order for the two leaders to meet, it is necessary to “build the foundation of those agreements that can be fixed at the highest level.” Peskov stressed that it makes no sense to hold a “meeting for the sake of a meeting”.
In addition, the Kremlin has not yet announced in what format Putin will take part in the G20 summit. According to Peskov, the decision to travel will depend on the safety factor.
