Russia has received an apology from the Secretary of State of the Vatican, Pietro Parolin, for the Pope’s statements about Russian military personnel – Chechens and Buryats, the incident has been settled. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova at briefing.

“The State Secretariat of the Vatican apologizes to the Russian side. The Holy See has deep respect for all the peoples of Russia, their dignity, faith and culture, as well as for other countries and peoples of the world,” Zakharova, representative of the diplomatic service of the Vatican, read out.
