The Russian Foreign Ministry summoned the acting head of the Canadian diplomatic mission in Moscow, Brian Ebel, and protested to him in connection with the statements of the country’s permanent representative at the UN Robert Ray about the deceased military commander Vladlen Tatarsky. The statement emphasizes that the position of the Canadian diplomat regarding the murder, which was accompanied by numerous victims, has become another manifestation of “Russophobia pumped up in Canada, when crimes committed against Russia and its citizens, including those of a terrorist nature, are justified or hushed up.”

The terrorist attack that killed Tatarsky took place in St. Petersburg on April 2. The next day, 26-year-old Daria Trepova, suspected of killing a military correspondent, was detained. She admitted that she brought a bust to the creative evening of a journalist, which subsequently exploded.

According to the National Anti-Terrorist Committee (NAC), the attack was organized with the help of Ukrainian special services and agents from among the FBK supporters (recognized as an extremist organization and banned, foreign agent, liquidated).
