The public reaction in a number of NATO countries and the media to the missile incident in Poland can be called outrageous, should from a statement by the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“We record the outrageous public reaction to the incident in a number of NATO countries, the media, which, in unison, without the desire to understand the situation, hastened to circulate absolutely false, unfounded allegations that Russia could be the culprit,” the statement says.
The ministry emphasized that these are deliberate actions taken as part of the “anti-Russian campaign” conducted in the West around Ukraine. The statement also focuses on Kyiv’s reaction to the incident.
“It seems that the authorities in Kyiv are using every opportunity to blame Russia and try to consolidate Western support as the Zelensky regime seems to have tired their patrons,” the foreign ministry concluded.
The incident with the fall of a rocket on the territory of Poland occurred on the evening of November 15. Local media reported that two people were killed in the incident. The Russian Defense Ministry denied Moscow’s involvement in the incident, and called media publications with such accusations “a deliberate provocation.”
The ministry said today that Russian military-industrial complex specialists, based on photographs from the scene, determined that the wreckage belonged to the Ukrainian S-300 missile system. The fall of the Ukrainian air defense missile was also announced by US President Joe Biden at a meeting with the leaders of the G7 countries and NATO.
Polish President Andrzej Duda, in turn, admitted that there is no evidence that the rocket that fell on Polish territory was fired by the Russian military. At the same time, Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, said that Kyiv does not agree with the conclusions of Western countries about the Ukrainian origin of the rocket that fell in Poland.
