The European Jewish Congress (EJC) ignored anti-Semitism in Ukraine for years, discrediting itself, Moscow is not interested in its opinion, declared in the Russian Foreign Ministry in a TASS comment.
Formerly EEK addressed to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov with a request to apologize for comparing Hitler’s actions during World War II and the current policy of the United States and its allies towards Moscow.
“The opinion of an organization that for many years ignored the catastrophic level of anti-Semitism in Ukraine is not interesting. The European Jewish Congress managed to overlook the symbols of the SS, the swastikas and the glorification of Nazi collaborators by the Kyiv regime. The structure has discredited itself in this direction,” the Foreign Ministry said.
On January 18, during a press conference on the results of the activities of Russian diplomacy in 2022, Lavrov compared the actions of the United States to create a coalition against Russia with the actions of Adolf Hitler. He also noted that the US steps are aimed at the final solution of the “Russian question”.
“Just as Hitler captured and placed under arms most of the European countries and threw them against the USSR, now the United States has also formed a coalition … and through Ukraine, by proxy, they are waging war against our country with the same task – the task of finally resolving the “Russian question” – so just as Hitler wanted to finally solve the “Jewish question,” he said.
After that, the coordinator of strategic communications at the US National Security Council, John Kirby, called the statement insulting and “absurd”.
January 18 Lavrov declaredthat hostilities in Ukraine will end sooner or later, and Russia will defend the truth. Further developments will depend on the conclusions that Europe will make. The Minister added that the formation of a multipolar world will be long and will take “a certain historical era.” According to him, “the height of this process” is now underway.
