Attempts to push Russia out of the Middle East and influence its relations with the countries of the region are doomed to failure, and the United States wants to “privatize” the negotiations on the Arab-Israeli conflict, declared “RIA Novosti” Special Representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry for the Middle East settlement Vladimir Safronkov.
“I am convinced that any attempts to push Russia out of the region, to influence its relations with the regions, to turn it off from the process of resolving the Palestinian-Israeli or any other Middle East crisis are political “nonsense” and doomed to failure,” he said.
The United States, according to Safronov, is withdrawing itself from the work of the “quartet” (the European Union, Russia, the United States and the United Nations) on the Middle East settlement and thereby wants to completely “privatize” the negotiations on the Arab-Israeli conflict. Attempts to “cut such complex conflict knots single-handedly are in the category of mission impossible,” he said.
Earlier at the summit in Astana, Russian President Vladimir Putin declaredthat it is the countries of the Asian region that are the locomotive of world economic growth, which is especially important when serious changes are taking place in global politics and the economy: “The world is becoming truly multipolar, and Asia is playing a very noticeable, if not new centers of power. At a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Putin said that relations between Russia and Palestine are deeply rooted and Russia’s position on the Palestinian-Israeli settlement is fundamental and does not change: the President stressed that Russia is closely watching what is happening in the region.
