The Foreign Ministry announced the study of data on the fall of the DPRK rocket in the Russian EEZ

The Russian Foreign Ministry, together with the Ministry of Defense, is investigating data on the fall of a North Korean intercontinental ballistic missile in the territory of the exclusive economic zone (EEZ) of Russia, Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko said.

“As far as I know, my colleagues with the Ministry of Defense continue to investigate this, but so far we have no clear information that the missile fell in the economic zone of Russia,” said he (TASS quote).

The United States, together with its allies, according to Rudenko, is actually provoking Pyongyang to launch missiles and military preparations, while the DPRK is reacting to the actions of the West.

On July 12, the Japanese Ministry of Defense announced the launch of a DPRK ballistic missile that fell into the Sea of ​​Japan outside the country’s EEZ, about 250 km from Okushiri Island. According to the agency, it could be an intercontinental ballistic missile with a range of more than 5,500 km. The Japanese Ministry of Defense clarified that this is the 14th launch of such weapons by the DPRK.

The fact that a missile launched from the territory of the DPRK could fall on the territory of the Russian EEZ was announced by UN Assistant Secretary General Khaled Hiari during a meeting of the organization’s Security Council. According to him, the rocket flew about 1,000 km for 74 minutes, after which it fell into the sea in the Russian EEZ. On July 14, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Moscow did not yet have information to confirm these reports.
