US intelligence agencies have been conducting global surveillance of their own citizens and citizens of other countries for decades. About it says in a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“The revealed facts once again convincingly prove what Moscow has repeatedly warned about: US intelligence agencies have been using IT corporations for decades to massively collect data from Internet users without their knowledge,” the department noted.
The Foreign Ministry recalled that they regularly raise the issue of the need to “bring order in this area” and develop norms of behavior in the digital space, which would be based on respect for human rights and freedoms and the sovereign equality of states. However, Washington is not ready to listen to Moscow’s initiatives, the department added.
The Foreign Ministry called the United States “a state that puts itself above the law” and pointed to the policy of “double standards” of the country. In conclusion, Russian diplomats called on the parties concerned to form mechanisms for regulating the digital sphere.

The Russian intelligence service considered the information received as evidence of Apple’s close cooperation with the National Security Agency (NSA) of the United States. The company’s assurances about the confidentiality of users’ personal data are not true, the FSB concluded.
