The Foreign Ministry accused NATO of “uncontrolled distribution of digital weapons” through Ukraine

NATO distributes digital weapons through Ukraine, such actions are fraught with consequences for the whole world. Such a statement done in an interview with RIA Novosti, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov.

He noted that today the threats that Ukraine creates in the information are of a “universal nature.”

“In fact, today NATO is carrying out an uncontrolled distribution of digital weapons through this country,” Syromolotov said.

The Deputy Foreign Minister added that such actions could have unpredictable consequences for the whole world. According to the diplomat, at the moment Russia is under the gun, and tomorrow in its place “may be any other state objectionable to Washington.”

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24. At the end of October, the head of Roskomnadzor Andrey Lipov declaredthat since the beginning of hostilities in Ukraine, the power of DDoS attacks on Russian resources has increased.

If in February-March 2021 the average duration of hacker attacks did not exceed 12 minutes, then in May 2022 this figure reached 57 hours. According to him, hundreds of Russian resources were attacked daily by hackers.

At the same time, the Russian Foreign Ministry accused the United States of cyberattacks. According to Vladimir Shin, deputy head of the Department of International Information Security of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Washington conducts such operations with the hands of Ukrainian IT specialists, while most attacks are carried out from the territory of the United States and the EU.
