Two companies from the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR) are included in the unified register of participants in the free economic zone (FEZ), created on the territory of the annexed regions, said Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin. Four more applications and investment declarations have been submitted to the Territorial Development Fund, which manages the FEZ.
Mr. Khusnullin specified that this status entitles investors to “significant tax benefits and preferences.” “The first participants of the free economic zone have already received certificates. Some intend to create a modern production of electric transport – they will produce trams, trolleybuses, electric buses and components for them. The second ones are implementing an investment project for the modernization and technical re-equipment of retail premises, ”quotes him press office government.
Ilshat Shagiakhmetov, General Director of the Territorial Development Fund, added that among the investment projects is the restoration of production capacities of metallurgical complexes on the territory of the DPR and LPR. In addition, it is planned to build an enterprise for the production and bottling of drinking water in the DPR and modernize the production of ball valves in the LPR.
State Duma June 20 accepted draft laws on the creation of SEZs in four new regions of Russia. The SEZ will operate there until January 31, 2050. The minimum investment for working in the SEZ will be 30 million rubles, for small businesses – 3 million rubles, for IT companies – 1 million rubles. In early July, as Marat Khusnullin said, were filed the first applications for obtaining the status of a SEZ participant in these regions.
