The first flight of the Sirius drone took place in Russia

The newest strike drone “Sirius” (another name – “Pacer-RU”) made its first flight. About it informs TASS with reference to the developer “Kronstadt”.
“The first flight of the Sirius has taken place, flight tests of the drone continue,” the company said.
The drone model was shown at the MAKS-2019 air show. In November 2021 Sergey Bogatikov, General Director of Kronstadt declaredthat the company has begun to create “Sirius”.
The drone was conceived as a heavier version of the Orion with satellite control and the ability to interact with manned aircraft. Earlier it was reported that the take-off weight of the Sirius will be up to 2 tons, and the wingspan will be up to 23 m. The drone is equipped with two engines, it can be in flight for up to 20 hours, the maximum flight altitude is 7000 m.
According to TASS, Sirius is capable of carrying guided and unguided bombs and missiles. There is also a naval version of the drone. In 2021, the Ministry of Defense signed a contract with Kronstadt for the supply of drones. It is expected that the Russian army “Sirius” will do in 2023
