First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Trans-Baikal Territory Marat Mirkhaidarov announced his decision to volunteer for a special military operation.
In his Telegram channel, Mirkhaidarov said that this morning he decided to go to defend his homeland in a special military operation. He plans to go to Grozny and join the ranks of the special forces Akhmat battalion in the coming days.
Mirkhaidarov was born in 1978 and from 2011 to 2013 worked as an assistant to business ombudsman Titov. He was involved in the formation of the institution of the Commissioner under the President of the Russian Federation for the protection of the rights of entrepreneurs. Since March 2023, he has held the position of First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Trans-Baikal Territory.
The Akhmat battalion is a special unit within the Russian Guard troops, which is located in the Chechen Republic.
Mirkhaidarov is not the first regional leader to volunteer for the Northern Military District. At the end of 2022, the First Deputy Prime Minister of Bashkortostan Azat Badranov went to the territory of a special military operation as a volunteer of the Bashkir battalion, and the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Ulyanovsk Region Sergei Kuchits also announced that he would volunteer for the Northern Military District in the second half of 2023.
