Prime Minister Fico: Slovakia will block Ukraine’s membership in NATO
Slovakia will block Ukraine’s membership in NATO, because the presence of Kyiv in the North Atlantic Alliance “would mean the beginning of the third world war.” This statement was made by Prime Minister Robert Fico.
He emphasized that he was going to a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Denis Shmygal with humanitarian aid, and also stressed that Kyiv would not receive any military assistance from Bratislava.
At the same time, Fico added that Slovakia will support Ukraine’s accession to the European Union (EU), but will block membership in the Western military bloc to the last.
On Wednesday, February 24, a meeting of prime ministers is scheduled to take place in Uzhgorod.
