The Finnish Ministry of Justice rejected the idea of completely closing the border with Russia
The Finnish Ministry of Justice gave a negative response to the draft government resolution tightening restrictions on crossing the Finnish-Russian border.
Deputy Chancellor of Justice of the Government of Finland Mikko Pumalainen rejected the corresponding document, since there were no legal grounds for further preparation of a decision with the proposed content.
Pumalainen motivated his decision by the fact that tightening restrictions did not guarantee respect for the rights of people to apply for international protection.
Earlier, political scientist Yuri Svetov explained how Russia can respond to all attacks at once Finland and the Baltic countries. In total, all attacks can be “cut off” only by winning a special operation, the expert believes.
MEP Gunnar Back expressed the opinion that the decision of the Finnish authorities to close four border checkpoints on the border with Russia is a genuine national solutionindicating a change in Finnish policy.
