Members of the Federation Council reported on their work in 2022. Vedomosti studied the data published on the website of the upper house of parliament.

The most voluminous report was presented by Elena Mizulina, a member of the committee on constitutional legislation, representing the governor of the Omsk region. On page 161, she spoke not only about her work in the Federation Council, but also about her activities as a representative of the chamber in the Supreme Court.

The main part of the report states that in 2022, Mizulina sent 92 requests to federal government bodies, including the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (25) and the Prosecutor General’s Office (12). Almost 80% of the document is appendices. Among them, for example, are recommendations from round tables in which the senator took part, a list of draft laws submitted by the Supreme Court, a transcript of the president’s speech at the All-Russian Congress of Judges, and the full text of the Code of Judicial Ethics.

Member of the Budget Committee, representative of the Tuva Parliament Dina Oyun presented a report on the work on 83 pages. Her assistance to the Donbass, the participants of the special operation and their families amounted to 1,059,337 rubles, follows from the data on the website of the Federation Council.

Oyun also reported that on March 9, 2022 she “came to cheer” for the participants in the Championship and Championship of Russia in Kung Fu 2022, held at the Wushu Palace in Moscow, and on September 23 she attended the play “Nomad’s Wedding” of the National Music and Drama Theater of the Republic Tuva them. The report of the Chairman of the Committee on Constitutional Legislation, representative of the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Andrey Klishas took up 81 pages. 64 of them are annexes, which include his speeches at meetings of the Federation Council and committee, bills and media comments. So, for example, he said that in March, September, October 2022 he took second place in the Medialogy citation rating among senators.

The website of the upper chamber did not show reports of 12 senators, half of whom are from new regions, they were appointed at the end of 2022. In addition to them, these are the chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko, Suleiman Kerimov, Sergey Lukin, Lyudmila Narusova, Nikolai Ryzhkov, Alexander Trembitsky.

Matvienko’s report was posted at the end of January, the document can be publicly available on the website of the Federation Council for a month, then it moves to the portal of the body that empowered the senator, Vyacheslav Timchenko, head of the committee on regulations, told Vedomosti. The rest, according to him, are still “in work”, the committee checks them “for errors.”
