The Federation Council has scheduled Russian presidential elections for March 17, 2024. It is expected that tomorrow, December 8, the Central Election Commission (CEC) will hold its first meeting dedicated to the start of the presidential campaign.

The head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, spoke at the meeting of the Federation Council. She said that the Central Election Commission will consider the possibility of organizing three-day voting in these presidential elections.

“The Central Election Commission will consider the draft resolution on voting in the presidential elections within three days. For the first time in the history of new Russia, presidential elections will be held in such a toxic geopolitical atmosphere. The Russian electoral system has a margin of safety for the proper conduct of presidential elections,” said the head of the Central Election Commission.
