The Federation Council confirmed the transition of the Krasnoyarsk senator Semenov to another job

Valery Semyonov, Senator from the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, filed an application for early termination of his powers in connection with the transfer to a new job. This was reported to Vedomosti by the head of the Federation Council committee on regulations, Vyacheslav Timchenko.

“On Monday evening, a statement was received from Semenov Valery Vladimirovich about the resignation in connection with the transfer to another place of work,” he said.

According to Timchenko, this application will be considered on Wednesday, May 24.

Previously, Vedomosti, citing sources wrotethat Semyonov could go to work in the government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. According to two Vedomosti sources close to the region’s leadership, Semyonov will become the region’s vice-premier, concurrently responsible for the work of his permanent representative office in Moscow.

It is specified that the vacant mandate may be taken by the former governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Alexander Uss, who resigned on April 20. Now the acting governor is Deputy Finance Minister Mikhail Kotyukov.

Valery Semenov, 62, is a member of the Federation Council Committee on Federal Structure, Regional Policy, Local Self-Government and Northern Affairs. The senator has been representing the regional legislative assembly in the upper house of parliament since 2014, and before that, since 2001, he was a deputy of the regional legislative assembly. Until 2004, he also held senior positions at Norilsk Nickel.
