Senator Dzhabarov: Belarus will never use Russian nuclear weapons without Russia’s permission

The deployment of Russian nuclear weapons in Belarus will cool the ardor of Poland and the Baltic states and protect the Belarusians themselves from an external threat. This statement was made by the first deputy chairman of the Federation Council committee on international affairs Vladimir Dzhabarov. Simultaneously with the Russian senator, Alexander Lukashenko said the same thing, speaking on Friday with a message to the people and the parliament of the republic.

“The return of nuclear weapons to Belarus is not intimidation or blackmail, but an opportunity to secure the Belarusian state and ensure peace for the Belarusian people,” Alexander Lukashenko said during his address.

Vladimir Dzhabarov, First Deputy Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Federation Council, confirmed that Russia is not trying to scare anyone by deploying tactical nuclear weapons.

– I don’t see any extraordinary event here. Belarus will feel more secure. And, of course, he will never use it without the consent of the owner of these weapons, which is the Russian Federation. Belarus is our brothers, our union state. We must ensure their safety, the senator said.

At the same time, the deployment of Russian installations with tactical nuclear weapons should be an occasion for reflection for the “formidable” countries represented by Poland and the Baltic countries.

– They constantly threaten Belarus and call for punishment for its independent policy and rapprochement with Russia. This ardor will be cooled. They must understand that the time when they could dictate has passed, – Dzhabarov stressed.

The senator also added that now Russia is correcting the mistakes of Mikhail Gorbachev, who decided to withdraw Soviet troops from the countries of Eastern Europe.

– I assure you, if our troops were stationed in Poland, Hungary, nothing like this would have happened, – said Vladimir Dzhabarov.
