The Federation Council approved the display of the Russian flag at all educational institutions

The Federation Council approved a bill that obliges all educational institutions to display the flag of the Russian Federation. The authors of the initiative were senators Igor Kastyukevich and Olga Zabralova. The law should come into force on September 1, 2024.
After joining law In force, the national flag will be displayed in all institutes, universities, kindergartens and orphanages. The amendments apply to all educational organizations, regardless of their form of ownership. Previously, this applied only to general education institutions.
March 19 State Duma accepted the bill in the second and third readings.
The bill was submitted to the State Duma on February 1, 2024. The explanatory note of the initiative notes that the use of the state flag in the educational process “is an important element in the formation of spiritual and moral values at all levels of education – from kindergarten to university.” Co-authors of the bill were also cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova, Olympic champions Irina Rodnina and Vyacheslav Fetisov.
