Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the transfer to the temporary management of the Federal Property Management Agency of the shares of the Prime Print printing house network, owned by the Norwegian company Amedia Eastern Europe AS. According to information on the website of the printing house network, Amedia Eastern Europe is the sole shareholder of the Prime Print companies in Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg and Chelyabinsk and the majority shareholder of the Prime Print companies in Voronezh and Novosibirsk.

In April 2022, the media holding Amedia stated, that he intends to leave the Russian market and transfer control of four printing houses to Dmitry Muratov (recognized as a foreign agent). The fate of the remaining two printing houses was not decided at that time.

Amedia is the second largest media holding in Norway, occupying 26.7% of the daily press market. The company has extensive printing activities in Norway and Russia.
