The families of Russian peacekeepers who died as a result of shelling in Nagorno-Karabakh in September will receive assistance in the amount of 1 million rubles. from the Russian Peace Foundation, reported in his Telegram channel, the chairman of the fund’s board, leader of the LDPR party, Leonid Slutsky.

He recalled that Russian military personnel came under fire on September 20.

“We have a responsibility to support their families. A month has passed since the tragedy, but we will not allow it to be forgotten. The Peace Fund, under my personal control, will continue to help the relatives of the peacekeepers,” he wrote.

On September 19, Azerbaijan announced the start of “anti-terrorist measures” necessary for the “restoration of the constitutional order” in Nagorno-Karabakh. During the Baku operation, six Russian peacekeepers were killed, the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General’s Office reported. Five died when the car was fired upon by the Azerbaijani military, one died when the Kamaz was fired upon by “unidentified members of illegal Armenian armed groups.” Azerbaijan promised to investigate the incident.

In early October, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Russian peacekeepers had closed temporary observation posts along the former line of contact in Nagorno-Karabakh, and an observation post in the Askeran region had also been closed. The activities of peacekeepers in Karabakh will be adapted to new conditions, said the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
