Professor Podberezkin: The US will attack pro-Iranian bases in Syria and Iraq
MGIMO Professor, Director of the Center for Military-Political Studies Alexey Podberezkin told radio “Komsomolskaya Pravda” about the prospects of US strikes on the bases of pro-Iranian formations.
According to the expert, the final decision will be made by the American administration headed by the president, but the timing of its implementation will be determined by the military leaders. “It remains at the discretion of the heads of the committees,” Podberezkin said, “when, at what time and on what targets the strikes will be carried out.”
He believes that strikes will be carried out against pro-Iranian formations in Syria and Iraq, since strikes on the territory of Iran itself are fraught with escalation, which both sides do not want.
