Retired FSB General Appreciated the Attack on the Crimean Bridge

On the morning of October 8, an explosion thundered on the Crimean bridge, accompanied by a bright flash of light. At first it was reported about the explosion of fuel tanks standing on the railway line of the bridge. However, a truck that exploded on the roadway was later named the cause of the incident. The version of undermining the bridge supports is not excluded.

At about six o’clock in the morning, a truck explosion on the automobile part of the bridge from the side of the Taman Peninsula led to the ignition of seven fuel tanks of the railway train. According to preliminary data, no victims. The main arch over the navigable part of the bridge was not damaged, but the car spans were partially collapsed, at least in two places. Later, the head of the Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, said that one automobile thread of the Crimean bridge from Kerch to Taman was intact. The timing of the restoration of damaged elements is not yet known. The All-Russian Union of Insurers has already estimated the damage from what happened at 200-500 million rubles.

The railway line of the bridge remains functioning, however, all flights on it have been postponed. From the side of Taman and Kerch, two locomotives are approaching, which will stretch the burnt train with fuel. It is reported that this will not particularly affect the supply of the army, but there may be problems with the logistics of goods for the Crimea. According to official figures, there will be enough essential goods in the region for another two months, and fuel for 15 days.

Crossing the bridge by car will probably be impossible until October 31st. A ferry service has been established. At least four or five ferries will be involved. Drivers have to queue up. Oleg Kryuchkov, an adviser to the head of Crimea, said that all the necessary services are working, and food and heating points are being set up at the entrances to the bridge for drivers. By the way, because of the incident, navigation in the Kerch Strait did not overlap and continues.

Chairman of the Crimean Parliament Vladimir Konstantinov said that the roadbed on the Crimean bridge was damaged by “Ukrainian vandals”. The fact that Kyiv was involved in the emergency is directly indicated by the words of the Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mikhail Podolyak: “Crimea, the bridge, the beginning.”

Unexplained remains the question of the passage of an exploded truck checks located at the entrance to the bridge stationary inspection and inspection radio complexes ST-6035. It is alleged that such complexes can detect explosives and chemicals, but this time either the equipment failed, or the duty shift was to blame.

About the explosion on the Crimean bridge, MK spoke with retired FSB general Alexander Mikhailov.

– What is the probability that we are really dealing with a terrorist attack?

– Of course, by and large, the only version can only be an act of sabotage.

– If the car exploded on the move, did the suicide bomber do it?

– Anything is possible. I have the impression that everything that Kyiv is talking about, despite our skeptical attitude, is, in general, being implemented. I would like us to carry out actions on our part that are adequate to what Kyiv is doing. Why do bridges across the Dnieper still exist? Why are there junction stations through which weapons go to the territory of Ukraine? There are many questions.

– How did it happen that this car passed inspection?

– We deal with oil products. There is no need for a high power charge. The fuel mass is ignited. Such ignition can occur with a charge of very small force. Look here, don’t look. We cannot say for sure where the charge could be and how it could work. To accurately identify this, you need to disassemble half of the car. We can talk about verification and inspection very conditionally.

– Will it now be necessary to introduce a special regime in a number of Russian regions, in the face of this kind of danger?

– I spoke about this at the beginning of the special operation, about the need to tighten the counterintelligence regime throughout Russia. This should have been done a long time ago. Not from the point of view of hysteria and panic, but in order to create people’s squads today, to create youth operational detachments. Control the situation together with law enforcement agencies and with society. I do not understand why no measures have yet been taken to form an internal people’s militia.
