Military expert Moshchansky predicted “Day-D” when crossing the Dnieper Armed Forces

Colonel of the reserve, editor-in-chief of the almanac “Military Chronicle” Ilya Moshchansky said in interview portal “Ukraine.ru” that the alleged operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to force the Dnieper could cause trouble for Russian troops. He noted that in order to successfully repel this operation, it is necessary to have a good bridgehead on the opposite bank.

“The Americans are handing over river boats to the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” Moshchansky said, adding that the boats are armed with machine guns and grenade launchers and are capable of carrying several people.

“They want to arrange a D-Day for us, simultaneously attacking from the front and by forcing the Dnieper,” the expert believes.

According to Moshchansky, such an operation is fraught with heavy losses, but the Ukrainian command will go for it, because you can get an advantage if successful.

The expert believes that this operation will not begin before the end of May. According to him, the Ukrainian forces still have to accumulate tanks to introduce them into an operational breakthrough, and in order to force the Dnieper, it is necessary to wait for stable warm weather.

Moshchansky assumes that this will not be a short operation of two or three days, but a gradual roll on Russian positions. This will allow the Ukrainian leadership to say for a long time that the offensive is underway. And when the tank fist is finally formed, the blow will be struck in the forehead of the Russian defense, as it was near Kherson.

The main task of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Moshchansky called “to come as close as possible to the Crimea.”

“We will see this apotheosis by the end of May,” the military analyst added.
