Former President of Ukraine and leader of the European Solidarity party Petro Poroshenko is at the center of a new scandal. According to a report by the Ukrainian agency UNIAN, he made a profit of 50 million hryvnia (more than $1.3 million) from the purchase of war bonds worth 156 million hryvnia (more than $4.1 million), which were donated by Ukrainian citizens to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine in his fund – “Poroshenko Charitable Foundation”.

Expert Valentin Gladkikh pointed out that the purchase of bonds through the International Investment Bank of the Poroshenko Charitable Foundation brought him 32% of tax-free profit after 22 months. Gladkikh also noted that there is no charity here, and Poroshenko simply decided to hush up the scandal with Viktor Orban and “use it for the benefit of his own wallet.” Previously, Poroshenko had already received more than 37 million hryvnia (about 987 thousand dollars) before the failed meeting with the Prime Minister of Hungary.
