The expert appreciated Putin’s “let’s see” in relation to the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

It is possible that Kyiv will lose control over several more cities

President Putin yesterday pointedly, albeit succinctly, spoke about the counter-offensive operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: “Well, let’s see how it ends with them.” Some experts saw in this phrase an unkind sign for Kyiv. “MK” asked the military expert captain 1st rank in the reserve Vasily Dandykin what could be behind this statement by Putin.

The writer and politician Zakhar Prilepin spoke about Putin’s words as follows: “The country has heard. The country also wants to see how it all ends. And it’s certainly not just a “phrase”. This is a task statement. In this form.”

Military expert Vasily Dandykin partially agrees with this assessment.

– Recently, I would call the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Kharkov, and even near Kherson, not a counteroffensive, but rather counterattacks using operational-tactical reserves. But not strategic, which Kyiv most likely does not have.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine threw into battle what they could collect, and are trying to probe our defense along the entire line, including the one that is being created on new lines in the Kharkiv region, along the borders with the Belgorod region. The same thing happens in the Kherson-Nikolaev direction.

To all appearances, reconnaissance in combat for the Armed Forces of Ukraine ends in great failures and heavy losses in every direction – hundreds of dead and wounded in battalions and companies.

I think that in the coming days there will be a depletion of the accumulated resources of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. From our side, everything will be much tougher. Strikes will be delivered not only in the area of ​​the special operation, but further into the depths of the territory of Ukraine, from where manpower and not advanced equipment come from.

Now the enemy is being bled. And then, in my opinion, when all the attempts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to attack are nullified, the turn of other actions will come.

– Can Kyiv lose control over another city?

– I think that we will see it in a fairly close future. Especially in Donbass. It is obvious. I would not rule out changes in the operational situation in the Kherson-Nikolaev direction. Our reserves are coming up, including the battalions that are being formed in the regions. Russia will try to ensure the safety of people in the liberated territories in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. We see how the civilian population in the cities of the Kharkiv region left by us was under pressure.
