The ex-wife of Nazarbayev’s nephew was suspected of kidnapping

In Kazakhstan, law enforcement agencies suspected Gulmira Satybaldy, ex-wife of ex-president of the republic Nursultan Nazarbayev, of kidnapping. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the country’s anti-corruption service.
According to the agency, Satybaldy was detained on suspicion of a raider seizure of a business committed together with her ex-husband.
She is also being investigated for the theft of 747 million tenge ($1.6 million) from the budget in 2021. In addition, the woman is suspected of stealing budget funds during the construction of the 2017 Universiade facilities in Alma-Ata.
Satybaldy and a number of her proxies are also suspected of misappropriation of company assets, kidnapping and illegal imprisonment.
