The European Union has threatened to hold Poland accountable over Ukraine

Poland faces charges of “failure to comply with the rules or failure to comply with the law” if the country does not take action as thousands of Ukrainian trucks are blocked at the border in Dorohusk. Politico writes about the warning of the European Commissioner for Transport Adina Valen.

Since November 6, a huge queue of trucks has formed at the border due to the blockade by Polish truckers, waiting to cross the Dorohusk border checkpoint. More than three thousand trucks are stuck at four border crossings, meaning waiting times have reached three weeks.

The Polish authorities, as the European Commissioner emphasized, must ensure compliance with the law at this border – otherwise they may be held accountable. Valen supports people’s right to protest, but the entire European Union, not to mention Ukraine, cannot be “taken hostage with blocked borders.”
