The European Union froze Russian assets worth 68 billion euros

The European Commission has published a document from which it follows that the EU has frozen Russian assets in the amount of 68 billion euros, Politico reports.
As specified, in Belgium, assets worth 50 billion euros were frozen, in Luxembourg – in the amount of 5.5 billion euros.
The frozen national reserves of Russia in the document are estimated at 33.8 billion euros, but the exact amount of the EU is unknown, follows from the document.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova described the freezing of Russian assets in Europe as “robbery in broad daylight” and stressed that if it comes to real seizures of Russian assets or state reserves, the country will take appropriate retaliatory measures.
