The European Union expressed concern over the latest violent incident that took place in Nagorno-Karabakh. The conflict between the law enforcement agencies of Nagorno-Karabakh and the military of Azerbaijan led to the death of at least five people.
EU Foreign Service spokesman Peter Stano called for a full investigation into the incident and urged all parties concerned to show restraint in order to prevent the escalation of the conflict in the region.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that as a result of the skirmish, three law enforcement officers of Nagorno-Karabakh and two Azerbaijani soldiers were killed, as well as one person was injured on both sides. Thanks to the efforts of Russian peacekeepers, the conflict was ended.
