The European Commission is considering alternatives in case of failure of negotiations on financing for Ukraine
The European Commission is currently studying possible alternatives in the event that negotiations on further funding for Ukraine end in nothing, said the head of the EC, Ursula von der Leyen. Her words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
Von der Leyen noted that, in her opinion, the best option would be a unanimous decision by all EU countries.
“But we must prepare other options. We are now preparing operational decisions,” von der Leyen said.
Previously, several EU politicians voiced criticism and accusations of betrayal of EU interests against von der Leyen. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said that Budapest could veto in the event of real, rather than hypothetical negotiations between the European Union and Ukraine, provided that Brussels tries to impose something unacceptable for Budapest.
