The European Commission called the conditions for Ukraine to receive financial assistance

In order to receive European funding, Ukraine must adopt a plan for the reconstruction of the country, including introducing the reforms necessary for joining the European Union. This was stated by Deputy Head of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis.

“In order to receive funding, Kyiv must adopt a plan for the reconstruction of Ukraine, which will include reforms and investments, as well as reforms necessary for Ukraine to join the EU. Accordingly, the money will be transferred as these investments and reforms are carried out,” told he (TASS quote).

Dombrovskis clarifiedthat the fund for assistance to Ukraine will consist of grants for 17 billion euros and loans for 33 billion euros. This amount of funding is calculated until 2027. The assistance package may be approved before the end of the year, so that funding begins as early as 2024.

On the provision of 50 billion euros to Kyiv for the restoration of the country for 2024–2027. EC President Ursula von der Leyen told on June 20.

In November 2022, the European Parliament approved a financial assistance package for Ukraine from the EU in the amount of up to 18 billion euros for 2023. Most of this assistance was supposed to be in the form of loans with a 10-year grace period, which are planned to be repaid quarterly. In May EU singled out Kyiv the fourth tranche under the expanded program of macro-financial assistance in the amount of 1.5 billion euros.
