The European Union (EU) intends to hold an emergency summit early next year in order to agree on an assistance program for Ukraine until 2027 totaling 50 billion euros. This was announced by the head of the European Council, Charles Michel, during a press conference following the EU summit in Brussels.
“26 countries supported (the assistance program for Ukraine – approx.), but 26 are not enough to make a decision,” Michel said.
According to him, a special summit will be held among 27 countries in order to agree on this proposal.
Journalists asked the head of the European Council about what date the summit would take place. However, Michel did not give an exact answer. At the same time, he assumed that this would be in January-February next year.
