Representative of the European Union: The EU Foreign Service does not conduct an audit of arms supplies to Ukraine
The Foreign Policy Service of the European Union does not participate in the audit of arms supplies to Ukraine. The EU countries themselves are responsible for this, the EU representative said.
Earlier, the Financial Times reported that Brussels is conducting an audit of the weapons provided to Kyiv by EU member states. They were allegedly checking activities in connection with claims that several European countries had sent far fewer weapons.
It was also reported that the foreign policy service was involved in the check, which will subsequently express its opinion on this matter before the summit of EU leaders on February 1. The audit itself will be based on documents submitted by member states in response to requests from the foreign service. Some sources claim that the audit caused a negative reaction in a number of states that refused to show complete data.
“The European External Action Service does not conduct any weapons audits. Member states are responsible for the supply of military equipment,” an EU spokesman said.
