The Embassy commented on London’s statements about the supply of shells with uranium

Western countries have prepared for Ukraine the role of a military training ground and a radioactive “burial ground”. With such a statement acted the Russian Embassy of Great Britain after statements by the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of James Hippie about the supply of shells with depleted uranium.

“The statements of J. Hippie eloquently demonstrate the ruthless grin of the Anglo-Saxons line on the all-out escalation of the “conflict by proxy” unleashed by them in Ukraine. It is now completely clear that the West has destined for this country the role of not only an anti-Russian military training ground, but also a radioactive “burial ground,” the report says.

The embassy also appealed to the British authorities with a call “not to flatter themselves with illusory hopes that by “transferring arrows” to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which now have toxic ammunition at their disposal, they will be able to get out of the water “dry”.

The day before, April 25, Hippie informedthat the UK has already sent the Armed Forces thousands of shells for Challenger 2 tanks, including those with depleted uranium. However, London does not know where Kyiv will use these shells, since they are now under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

However, London is not obligated to assist in the aftermath of the use of depleted uranium projectiles after the end of the conflict, Hippie added, adding that London is still “determined to help Ukraine emerge from the conflict a safe, prosperous and free country.”

On March 20, British Deputy Secretary of Defense Annabelle Goldie announced that London put Kyiv shells with depleted uranium for tanks Challenger 2. She explained the supply of such ammunition by the fact that they are highly effective in defeating modern tanks and armored vehicles.

After that, Russian President Vladimir Putin warnedthat Russia will be forced to respond to the supply of shells with depleted uranium to Ukraine. According to him, this decision demonstrates the willingness of the West to fight Russia to the last Ukrainian, not in words but in deeds. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called the supply of such shells a step towards a significant escalation of the situation.

Concern about the situation was also expressed in the UN. “We have expressed concern for years about any use of depleted uranium, given the consequences of such use. And this applies to anyone who supplies such weapons, ”said Farhan Haq, Deputy Representative of the UN Secretary General.
