Deputy Head of the Public Headquarters for Monitoring the Russian Presidential Elections in Moscow, Alexander Asafov, said that no incidents were recorded during the voting. An observer mission from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly stated that preparations for the elections comply with international standards.
“We see that all electronic voting devices at the polling stations are working without failures, people are voting, there are quite a large number of people at the polling stations. Everything is going as normal, there are no incidents,” Alexander Asafov told reporters (quoted from “RIA News”).
The coordinator of the CSTO observer group, Snezhana Imasheva, said that preparations for the elections “comply with the electoral legislation of Russia and international standards” (quoted by TASS). According to the head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, 333 thousand people are watching the elections, including 700 international representatives.
The presidential elections take place from 8:00 on March 15 to 20:00 on March 17. The Central Election Commission registered four candidates: Nikolai Kharitonov (KPRF), Leonid Slutsky (LDPR), Vladislav Davankov (New People) and Vladimir Putin (self-nominated).
