The Liberal Democratic Party proposed to imprison for desecration of the Russian passport
The Liberal Democratic Party has developed a bill that provides for the initiation of a criminal case for desecration of the passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the document.
The authors of the bill propose to supplement Article 329 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. For desecration of a Russian passport, LDPR deputies propose to punish up to one year in prison.
The explanatory note to the document notes that recently there has been information about Russian citizens who publicly and on camera burn their passports.
Now such actions fall only under the Code of Administrative Offenses and entail liability in the form of a fine of 100 to 300 rubles.
