In the United Russia faction in the State Duma, the position of one of the deputy leaders will be reduced, a source in the party told Kommersant. The position previously held by Igor Kastyukevich, who resigned as a deputy in September and went to work in the Federation Council as a senator from the Kherson region, will be reduced. In the party, the ex-deputy was responsible, among other things, for youth policy and, as Kommersant’s source explains, he was doing “the same thing” in the faction.
Let us recall that the head of the Duma faction “United Russia” is Vladimir Vasiliev. Now he will have two first deputies and eight ordinary ones, five of whom simultaneously head intra-factional groups.
In the Duma, Igor Kastyukevich also served as first deputy chairman of the committee on youth policy. According to Kommersant’s interlocutor, this position will now go to United Russia member Mikhail Kiselev, who was a simple deputy chairman in the same committee. The party also decided on filling another vacancy that arose after the deputy chairman of the Duma Committee on Economic Policy, Sergei Sokol, was elected speaker of the Supreme Council of Khakassia. His position will go to United Russia member Sergei Altukhov, a member of the same committee.
