Exchanges between prisoners of war with Ukraine will continue, despite the downing of an Il-76 in the Belgorod region. Chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee Andrei Kartapolov said this on Thursday, January 25.
He noted that Russia cannot abandon its military personnel.

Recall that a military transport aircraft IL-76 crashed in the Belgorod region on January 24.
According to the Ministry of Defense, on board were 65 captured military personnel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for the exchange, as well as six crew members and three accompanying persons. The State Duma reported that the Ukrainian side was notified of aircraft flight route.
State Duma deputy Andrei Kartapolov stated that the plane was shot down by missiles from the systems Patriot or Iris-T. According to the Ministry of Defense, the Ukrainian Armed Forces hit a Russian plane from the area of a populated area Liptsy, Kharkov region.
On January 25 it became known that both black boxes were discovered and handed over to investigators.
