The DPR reported on the fighting on the outskirts of Artemovsk

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are concentrating forces on the approaches to Artemovsk in the DPR, there are battles for settlements near the city – Klescheevka, Kurdyumovka and Andreevka. This was announced by the adviser to the acting head of the DPR, Yan Gagin, transmits “RIA News”.

“In the Artyomovsky direction, the enemy is grouping rather large forces and does not stop attacking. The battles for Kleshcheevka, Kurdyumovka, Andreevka are still going on,” he said.

Gagin explained that these settlements are “the keys to being able to attack” Artemovsk. The adviser to the acting head of the DPR emphasized that Kleshcheevka is under the control of the Armed Forces (AF) of the Russian Federation. According to him, part of the heights near the village is occupied by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy is firing from there on the approaches to Artemovsk. Gagin called the current situation problematic, expressing confidence that the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) “will solve this problem.”

Earlier today, the head of the press center of the group “South” Vadim Astafiev declaredthat Russian aviation attacked the facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Lisichansk direction. In particular, Ukrainian armored personnel carriers and infantry fighting vehicles were destroyed in the areas of Bogdanovka and Kleshcheevka, TASS reports.

July 30 Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported on the repulsion of seven attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Donetsk direction in the areas of Kleshcheevka, Andreevka and Krasnogorovka. On August 1, the acting head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, on the air of Soloviev Live, said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to attempt an offensive in the Mayorsk region, and are also shelling Kleshcheevka. He clarified that Kleshcheevka remains under the control of the Russian military.

The Russian special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. During the hostilities, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. The Ministry of Defense announced the capture of Kleshcheevka on January 20, 2023. Andreevka and Kurdyumovka came under Russian control on November 30 and December 1 last year, respectively. The Ministry of Defense announced the capture of Artemovsk on May 21 this year.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have been conducting offensive operations in the Zaporozhye, Yuzhnodonetsk and Artemivsk directions since June 4. The Russian authorities argue that the counter-offensive does not bring Kyiv the achievement of its goals. Russian President Vladimir Putin said earlier that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are suffering heavy losses, all attempts at an offensive by the enemy are being stopped.
