The dome of the Senate Palace of the Kremlin will be restored in the near future, said Elena Krylova, the official representative of the Russian presidential administration.

“Tomorrow we will change two copper sheets of the roof,” said Krylova (quote by Interfax).

Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said earlier that two copper sheets were scorched on the dome, there were no other damages. Peskov stressed that after the incident in the Kremlin, the “usual, working” situation remains. No special address by the President in connection with the incident is planned, but the issue may be raised during an operational meeting with the permanent members of the Security Council, which will be held tomorrow, May 5, the spokesman added.

Peskov also said that such attacks “are dictated to Kyiv from Washington, and we are well aware of this.” The spokesman called the statements by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Ukrainian officials “attempts to disown” and considered them “ridiculous.” According to him, Russian intelligence services have information about Ukraine’s involvement in the attack, but “only a fraction” of this information is disclosed.

On the night of May 3, two drones tried attack the Kremlin. As a result, no one was hurt.

The Kremlin called the incident “a planned terrorist act, an attempt on the life of the President of Russia.” They stressed that Moscow reserves the right to take retaliatory measures “where and when it sees fit.” On the fact of the incident of the RF IC aroused a criminal case on a terrorist act (Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

In Kyiv, involvement in the attack is denied. Commenting on the incident, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that Washington leaves it up to Kyiv to protect its territory in the conflict. He also questioned the credibility of the Kremlin’s message and called for “halving” Moscow’s statements. The White House stressed that they do not encourage Ukraine to strike at Russian territory.

Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov named cynicism and absurdity of the US statement about an attempt to attack the Kremlin. According to him, Russia hoped that Washington “had the strength and dignity” to condemn the attack, but the US authorities “did not find it possible to admit the obvious.”
