The Dolder Grand will have an omakase restaurant

The legendary Zurich hotel The Dolder Grand, located on a mountain with a breathtaking view of the largest city in Switzerland, opens the Mikuriya restaurant, which practices omakase, a gastronomic concept that is gaining popularity all over the world, including in Moscow.
The word “omakase” comes from the Japanese verb “makaseru”, which literally means “to trust”, and figuratively translates as “I will leave it up to you.” In this case, the trust is offered to the chef Yusuke Sasaki, who will not only decide what dishes to serve to the guests today, but will personally prepare them in front of the guests and serve them. For cooking, the chef uses ingredients such as king crab, scallops and wagyu beef.
The set includes 18 dishes, however, portions are small in accordance with omakase traditions. The name Mikuriya means “kitchen for special guests” and it’s not just a figure of speech: the restaurant’s counter can seat a maximum of eight participants at a time. The culinary action will last the whole evening. The restaurant is located in a 100-meter suite of the hotel overlooking the historic building of The Dolder Grand and will be open five evenings a week, except Mondays and Sundays. Chef Sasaki’s special guests can order sake, shochu or Japanese beer with selected dishes.
