The director of the special service of Moldova was afraid of the “invasion” of Russia

The head of the Information and Security Service of Moldova, Alexandru Musteata, said in interview TVR Moldova about the development of the alleged scenario of Russia’s “invasion” into the republic in early 2023.

According to him, the Moldovan special services are now analyzing several scenarios in which Russian troops will advance in the direction of Moldova through northern Ukraine.

“According to the information we have, the Russian Federation intends to go further. In order to create a connection with the Transnistrian region,” Musteata said, noting that the question is when this will happen, in the winter of 2023 or later – in March or April.

“What will happen next, we can discuss their intentions towards Chisinau,” the head of the SIS also said. According to one hypothesis, Musteata added, Russian troops want access to the largest ammunition depot in Europe, which is located in Cobasna in the Rybnitsa region of Transnistria.

Recall that Musteata was appointed to his post this summer. In addition to Moldovan, he also has a Romanian passport and at one time worked for eight years at the Soros Foundation and the NATO information center in Chisinau. Some officials have made unsubstantiated statements about the Russian “invasion” in Moldova before, pursuing various personal goals. The Russian Ministry of Defense did not make any statements about plans to conduct an operation in Moldova. The Russian leadership has also never stated that such tasks are being discussed.
