In relation to the director of the Museum of the History of Yekaterinburg, Igor Pushkarev, an administrative case was initiated on discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, should from the card index of the Leninsky district court of the city.

Pushkarev is suspected of committing actions aimed at discrediting the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in order to protect the interests of the country and citizens (part 1 of article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation). The case was received by the district court on December 23. A meeting on it is scheduled for tomorrow, December 27.

Pushkarev became director of the Museum of the History of Yekaterinburg on 14 December. Prior to that, he worked as a journalist for the online publication Znak.com. The media suspended work on March 4 amid the start of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine.

Russian businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin drew attention to the appointment of Pushkarev as the director of the museum. December 19, the press service of the company “Concord” published Prigozhin’s open letter to the mayor of Yekaterinburg Alexei Orlov, in which the businessman, referring to the data of the Wagner PMC security service, stated that Pushkarev received information from “agents of American and British intelligence.” The journalist paid “special attention” to PMC Wagner, Prigozhin noted. Pushkarev also criticized the conduct of the special operation, the businessman drew attention.

In this regard, Prigozhin concluded, the former Znak.com journalist opposes the current government in the Russian Federation. According to him, “it’s hard to imagine” that such a person runs a museum whose main task is to convey to visitors “reliable historical information.” The author of the letter urged Orlov to check Pushkarev and remove him from his new post.
